Great food! And to think we were going to go some where else for dinner. I am glad we stopped in. The waiter Wilbert is one of the servers I ever had. He takes great pride in what he does. Can wait to bring my family when they come and visit.
Closed 3/4 times we've tried to eat here recently. I really wanted to branch out and try Peruvian food but last time I looked it seems like this place is going under. I wouldn't drive far to try this place since they're probably closed, but if you're in the area and find it open it usually get's good reviews.
The food is absolutely delicious and has a great presentation, the reason Im not giving it 5 stars would be because of the wait time, about 40-45 mins to get our food. I dont know if you can call and order ahead, but if you can, you should.
Great cocktails. Good food. Try the Ceviche. Plus, very friendly staff. I recommend it.
They serve cane water, there is no canchita or breadVery small portions for the price. No filter water, no Peruvian corn or bread, a little pricey!
Nice place and liberal.
My significant other is from Peru, the North in particular, and she's super picky about her Peruvian food. We have our favorites around the Bay Area, and this place has become the newest one! Not often will she say "it's like homemade" but this place seemed to nail it with each dish! We've only been there once, so we'll see how they measure up in the future...going there today, so an update may be in the making soon! Lomo Saltado was a large dish, one of the best in the Bay Area, and the Seco de Cordero was also great! As a European/American growing up eating lots of savory dishes, I really appreciate the variety of flavors Peruvian foods offer, and this place does not disappoint!
Tonight was one of the happiest nights of my life! Chicha was back open for business with a delicious Chifa Taypa or fried rice on the menu. The service was friendly and the piscos sours still amazing! The atmosphere is warm, inviting, new and hip. You've got to come!
We know Peruvian food. The food here is quite good.
The food was quite good, particularly the ceviche. The service was poor; we had trouble flagging down the waiter for water refills and generally we weren't offered drink refills or dessert. The interval between clearing the serving pieces from the table and bringing the check was pretty long.
ChiCha is a new restaurant to Alameda. A group of us went last Thursday (9/26/13), and the food was tasty. The service was a little slow at times. We were a group of 5 and all of the dishes were not ready at once, so we had to wait until all the dishes came out. The Sweet Potatoes small tapas is delicious, and we also really enjoyed the Chicharron de Pollo small tapas. I would recommend the Lomo Saltado - it was delicious.
Great ceviche, food is authentic and service is excellent!
Wonderful atmosphere and flavors!! Totally worth the trip and the service was excellent!Try the sangria for sure 😀
